During 1960s, mostly all Hindu temples were located near Serangoon road or South Bridge road. Small group of Hindu devotees mostly residence of Jurong , always desired to have temple in Jurong area but nothing worked out until 1993.
The Temple land was bought in 1993 from the Government. Devotee built temporary shelter in 1994, and decided to offer their prayers until proper Temple building has been built. Due to insufficient fund the plan to build new temple was delayed until 1998.
During second phase of temple construction it was decided to build proper temple structure as well as to build multi storey workplace as part of temple's new building.
Temple construction finally completed in 2003 and, in 2005, temple was officially opened for devotees.
Professionals, who offered their services for free, took five years to complete the artwork.
Every single masterpiece in the temple has a meaning, e.g., Lord Murugan's spearhead symbolizes that we must be open minded and remain focused in life. the spearhead resembles a spade which is wide at the bottom and pointed at the top.
